Manual Cam Operated Coventry Concentric Chucks

These concentric chucks, remarkable for their gripping power and adaptability, are designed to deal with all concentric work and every type of irregular work within the capacity of the respective sizes. The advantages offered by these chucks are :

High ratio of gearing used ensure maximum gripping power
Strength of the chuck is due to the fact that there are no jaw slots running through the periphery of the chuck. Scrolls and pinions are made of special chrome nickel steel and head-treated. The collar screws holding the sector plates to the body are of hardened steel and take all the bursting stress at the face of the chuck. The solid rim of the chuck body prevents outward movement of the sector plate and the large dowels prevents the angular movement.
Durability is attained by the use of the highest grade of materials, correct heat treatment and refinements in design.
Accuracy is based on the hardened and ground sureface of the scroll and sliding shoes operating the jaw carriers. Accurate location of jaws on the jaw carriers is assured by precision machining of the serration on mating surefaces.

by removing the jaws, the chuck body can also be used as a faceplate.

Power Operated Collet Chuck

Designed as a low cost alternative to power chucking systems, these chucks are used for machining work pieces that cannot be chucked optionally in power operated jaw chucks.

They are ideal for machining parts that are susceptible to deformation or surface damage or components that require high speed machining. They are equipped with a lubrication facility that ensures a long, trouble free life.

These chucks have a self-adjusting ability, which can automatically accommodate small variations in the diameter of the bar throughout its length. Since they operate within a defined axial travel in both directions, major change of stroke control is not required for changing from a lathe chuck to a collect chuck.

Since there is no end movement of the work piece while gripping, in these dead length collet chucks, the second operation work can be accuratelylocated endwise. They can also be equipped with steel or rubber flex collets, on request.

These chucks are exclusively designed for drilling machines, milling machines and vertical CNC machining centers. The compact construction of these machines provides maximum working space, which allows inspection of components in calmed or unclaimed positions. These chucks with a built-in cylinder can be operated pneumatically or hydraulically with a flexibility of using either in vertical or horizontal positions.

While a hand operated direction control valve is provides for actuation, a foot operated valve is also supplied for operator convenience.
